3 days under the hot sun at the noisy and extremely hot race track in Sepang ...it was a good sun tan for me! The Japanese Super GT race was here again and I was shooting for zerotohundred.com, with the help of Andy and Vincent of Associated Press, I borrowed this heavyweight 400mm/f2.8 lense, weighing 12kg...it was no joke to carry the gears walking around the track for 3 days. Definitely a good workout for me.

The most expensive dumbell! This lense alone cost RM28,000!! Weight at 12kg...kinda scary eh!

Under the blazing hot sun, smelly brakes, heat from the exhaust and track...all for the hope to get some good photos!

some said like Counterstrike...some said like robbers...I'd say this is typical photographer stalking on race queens!

First shoot with my new Canon 30D

With the new camera and still having my 500W strobes, being a Nikon user since I first started photography in 2004, and switching over to a Canon now, lots of buttons and functions are different, I have to spend more time playing around with this new camera. The very first victim to model for me was my baby!!

and on the June 16, 2007...
Christopher invited me to shoot alongside with him, andywong and kiehou, the models were two beautiful friends, Ashlynn and Jia Er. The initial plan was to do the shoot at KLCC park, only to be greeted by some nuts securities asking us for permit before we can shoot!...with the reason ..we are professional doing commercial shoot! @%$# what the heck ...we asked those nuts ...what makes you think this is a commercial shoot, he pointed at our equipments and the ladies huge make up case!! Okay fine this KLCC park not the motha of all parks....we wont die not shooting here. So we adjourned to Lake Garden ...finally started shooting at 11am!! with the sun almost at directly above head...creating harsh shadows for sure..nevertheless..we still had fun at the end of the day.

Six months, that's how long it took for the insurance to pay me this puny compensation for the lost of my lovely Nikon D2x and heavyweight lenses! Its a mere 11% of what my gears worth! Sad ...but then its better than nothing! well..life goes on...

Finally I decided to get myself a Canon 30D SLR, 8MP 5 fps, magnesium body...the closest ..or rather the cheapest that I can afford for the time being. With a 50mm/1.8 lense good enough for some portraiture shots and low lights condition. All for RM 4,250.00 ..not a bad deal since camera prices has been plummeting heavily.

I got an old photo here...wanna take a guess who is that fat arse photo with the US Air Force crews at the Lima airshow in Langkawi May 2003? Yeah that's me !

That's ME in 2003...weighing at 89kg !! I was so fat ..is kinda scary to look back how I put on so much weight! In 2005...I started to swim 4-5 times a week, each session I swam 1.5km...and in a year and a half my weight came down to 69kg losing 20kg of body weight!! It was really costly, not the swimming fee (RM2 per session at the public pool), but costly because all my jeans and shirts became way too huge to fit me, fun part was many friends and customers couldn't recognise me (lol!). In April 2006...I joined a nearby gym in Subang Parade, this is why I stopped swimming and started gyming...! Time flies...a year of gyming passed...I am now averaging 72kg, hehe I'm too shy to post a big one...so here's a small photo of me now! (taken in April 2007)

and then when i get bored with work and gym...

I'll start to find some 'thing' to occupy myself...looking for some new gadgets or just anything to buy..to fix..to upgrade.... And this time, I decided to souped up my Intel C2D stock cooler, hehe check out this cool Artic Freezer Pro...look just like a car radiator with fan on it!! LOL !! ..not that expensive...got it for RM 115.00, but again..hmm hundred over bucks for a fan and heatsink that doesn't make the PC go faster, just slightly cooler !! HAHAHA...stupid me!!

Amateur Radio

Ahh..finally after passing my amateur radio exam for so many months, decided to take a trip to Malaysia Communication and Multimedia Commisioner (MCMC) in Cyberjaya to apply for a callsign and Apparatus Assignment (AA) license which will allow me to operate and use a ham radio! It took MCMC 3 weeks to issue the AA and finally get a call from them to collect it from Cyberjaya office.

My first choice callsign was available and I got it, its "9W2CPO"...Nine Whiskey Two Charlie Papa Oscar. That's my identity and how amateur radio members will address me.
Now...I need to go shopping for a ham radio !!

My new ride..

woohooo...bought another pair of Adidas for myself! Celebrity Fitness members gets 20% discount for Adidas products but only valid in KL Sentral, KLCC and Shah Alam outlets. Me drove all the way to KLCC ...to purchase this Megabounce+ shoe! So cool it came with 2 pairs of inner soles, two different stiffness and colors of orange and blue, so nice I can change the style adn color of the shoe, notice the lower rear of the shoe is transparent see through plastic, this is where the colors changes when I use different inner sole. Below photo shows blue inner sole used.

And when I got bored...I will practise my Adobe Photoshop skill, crazy powerful software that can virtually turn 'everything' into 'anything'!...saw these 3D and transparent trick in the net..and tried it myself...okiee..not really that difficult to do it!

transparent monitor...hehe! Ok thats my huge my 24" wide Dell monitor, dang..really love this monitor. When I first bought it in 2005 it cost me RM3499, but now you can get it at RM1999!!

Hmm...let me dig out more photos to share...kinda late to post them up, but what the heck..I think they are worth sharing! ;) Here are some photos from Roshida's birthday at KimGary Pyramid on Mar 21, 2007, I met her thru kimhooi, she's a funny girl and when she's around ...she wont failed to make me laugh!..her laughter alone can make me laugh non stop, macam laughing gas! She's a MAS stewardess and I really thanked her for getting me a super duper birthday gift last year! hahaha ..shh shh!! Oh well she just told me she stopped gym! :( gonna miss her and her laughter..!
